Frequently Asked Questions

We've gathered what mothers and fathers ask us most — and if your question isn't here, message us on WhatsApp and we'll answer directly.

What is early intervention and why does it matter?

Early intervention means giving a child specialized support in their earliest years, as soon as a delay in speech, movement, behavior or communication is noticed. It matters because a young child’s brain is at its most flexible; the earlier support starts, the faster the response, the more stable the results, and the less need for longer interventions later. That is why we advise parents not to wait when they notice a sign worth attention.

What ages does Little Faris Center accept?

Little Faris Center welcomes children from 18 months to 15 years old. Programs are designed around each child’s age and stage: early intervention for preschoolers differs in its activities and goals from programs for older children and teens, and the comprehensive assessment is what determines the most suitable format for every age and need.

How do I know my child needs speech therapy?

Common signs include speech delayed compared to peers, difficulty pronouncing certain sounds or swapping them, not forming age-appropriate sentences, or difficulty understanding simple instructions. One sign alone does not necessarily mean there is a problem — a speech assessment settles the question and gives you either a clear plan or complete reassurance.

What does the comprehensive assessment include?

The comprehensive assessment includes direct observation of the child during play, specialized measures of speech and language, motor skills, behavior and social communication, and a detailed parent interview about developmental history. Results are summarized in a clear report explaining the child’s level in each area, and an individual plan is built on it and discussed with you before any sessions begin.

What is the difference between occupational therapy and behavior modification?

Occupational therapy focuses on fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration and daily independence skills such as eating, dressing and writing. Behavior modification deals with behaviors themselves: reinforcing positive ones and reducing challenging ones using evidence-based methods such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Many children benefit from both programs together, and the assessment determines what your child actually needs.

Are sessions individual or group-based?

Both are available, depending on the child’s needs. Individual sessions are used to build new skills with the therapist’s full focus, while group sessions apply those skills socially with peers in small groups. The specialist recommends the most suitable format after assessment, and many children combine both types during the same stage.

How are parents kept in the loop?

Parents receive daily follow-up with full details after every session: what was worked on, how the child responded, and simple exercises suggested for home. Periodic meetings are also held to review the individual plan and its goals — because we believe a child’s real progress is made by home and center together.

Where is the center located and how do I get there?

You can open the location directly on Google Maps from the link at the bottom of any page on this site, or message us on WhatsApp and we will send you the location right away.

What are the working hours?

The center is open Saturday through Wednesday, from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with Thursday and Friday off. Session and assessment appointments are booked within these hours in coordination with the reception team to fit your family’s schedule — we recommend booking ahead to secure the time that suits you best.

Is the center licensed?

Do you offer psychological consultations for parents?

Yes. The center offers psychological consultations for parents as well as children and teens, alongside family guidance. Some sessions are held with the child directly, some with parents alone, and some bring both together depending on the nature of the challenge — all managed in complete confidentiality that protects your family’s privacy.

How do I book an assessment appointment?

You can book in three ways: message us on WhatsApp at +965 97510930, call the same number directly during working hours, or fill in the booking form on the Contact Us page of this site and we will get back to you shortly. When you book, the team schedules your child’s first assessment session.
